Launch of WE Data Europe: Enabling the Green Transition through Data

Launch of WE Data Europe
16.07.2025

As Europe faces growing pressure on its natural resources, smart technologies are becoming indispensable for the efficient and transparent management of energy and water in buildings. By measuring consumption and making this data accessible to consumers, digital metering fosters behavioural change and delivers tangible savings, helping households and building owners reduce both costs and emissions.

For over three decades, the European Association for the Consumption-based Billing of Energy Costs (E.V.V.E.) has represented the European submetering industry, championing fair and efficient energy use across Europe’s building stock. Building on this strong foundation, we are proud to relaunch the association as ‘WE Data Europe’, a new name that reflects our broader mission: placing data at the heart of resource efficiency in buildings.

WE Data Europe brings together leading companies in digital metering and submetering for both energy and water, united in support of the EU’s climate, digitalisation, and resilience goals. Our aim is simple: to enable smarter, more sustainable use of resources through reliable, actionable data.

We invite you to join us in Brussels on 30 September to mark the launch of WE Data Europe and to discover new insights on how data-driven solutions can help address water stress, reduce energy use, and accelerate the decarbonisation of Europe’s buildings.

The afternoon will include:

  • The official launch of WE Data Europe
  • A presentation of the study findings on Smart Water Metering
  • A panel discussion on data for resource-efficient buildings
  • A standing cocktail to close the event
